After hurricanes Katrina and Wilma in 2006, every Floridian realizes that, although most of us prepared somewhat, we didn't prepare quite well enough last year. One of the many things we must prepare is a way to stay in touch. Those TV audio feeds on our transistor radios really helped!
Just about every radio station has some type of weather forecasts, but some stations have also arranged to simulcast (rebroadcast the audio component of) TV broadcasts in case of hurricanes or other emergencies. These are listed below, by affiliated TV station. This page is being updated now (7/3/08), as we get info from the TV stations. Check back soon! When a hurricane is coming, you might want to print this out in LARGE TYPE, to refer to when you're without power and listening to a portable radio by candlelight! |

The other TV stations, of course, either don't do local newscasts or relay newscasts from the above stations. |

Emergency Radios & Flashlights, Generators, Inverters, and other Emergency Items"There are many silly superstitions about lightning, and as a result many people - maybe even you - are terrified of it. You shouldn't worry. Thanks to modern science we now know that lightning is nothing more than huge chunks of electricity that can come out of the sky, anytime, anywhere, and kill you."
