Dennis Miller at WFTL Event (Coral Springs, FL -- November 2008) ... Dennis Miller's post-election WFTL appearance at Coral Springs Center was fun, but a major disappointment. It was an interesting promotion, the night after the election. They didn't sell tickets; they gave them to WFTL listeners. I was expecting some world-class political humor, but his lame remarks about the election could be summarized in two sentences: He hopes Obama can fix our problems. With McCain's war record, he was well-qualified. Most of his anecdotes seemed to be about celebrities. Yawn. Maybe he didn't realize it was a WFTL audience, not Entertainment Tonight! Here's a vintage sci-fi TV show about a mad scientist/radio station engineer (Cliff Robertson) at KXKVI (obviously not a valid call) who inadvertently brings an alien to earth via radio. The Galaxy Being (pictured at right) was the pilot episode of The Outer Limits, first broadcast in 1963. Strangely enough, it's the only episode I remember from my childhood.
